Homemade Hydrating Face Mask For Dry Skin, using Banana, Coconut Oil, Lemon and Turmeric

Sometimes no matter how much water you drink, your face still thirsts for hydration and when you have dry skin, it's harder for your makeup to look flawless.

This homemade face mask includes everyday ingredients and only requires 10-15 minutes of your time.  So you're minutes away from hydrated, glowing skin.

But first, a bit about some of the benefits of each ingredient.  Honey moisturises, lemon brightens the skin, banana hydrate & reduces the appearance of blemishes.  And finally coconut oil, stimulates collagen and fights off free radicals.

There is a 5th ingredient, which is all the range in 2017, when it comes to skincare and that is 'Turmeric'.  This beautiful intense yellow spice can aid acne prone skin due it's antibacterial properties and can help with inflammation.  You can add a pinch of turmeric to the mask, but it is optional.

Before you run to the kitchen to mix up your thirst busting mask, make sure your face is clean and like any skincare product do a patch test, either behind your ear or inside your elbow, before applying to the rest of your face.  If you feel any irritation i wouldn't suggest using it.

1/2 Banana

1 tsp Honey

1 tsp Coconut Oil

1 tsp Lemon

Pinch of Turmeric (optional)


In a bowl, mash the banana with a small spoon. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. 

The mask may feel a little runny on your face so keep a towel handy, in case you need it.
